“Magic Passion and Love of Four-Leaves Clover”
- Chieh Lee (WINNER)
$300.00 (acrylic, acryla gouache, ink and watercolor)
Chieh Lee is a blooming illustrator & motion graphite designer. She is studying both illustration and motion graphics at Savannah College of Art & Design.
Four-Leaves Clover is not only my autobiographic image; but also, it represents
the people who bring the positive energy to this world. In my autobiographic story, Four-Leaves Clover always tries to comfort the wounded souls and direct them to the ways of happiness. It is the Four-Leaves Clover’s magic to be able to bring lucks, joys and happiness to the people; and also, it is the Four-Leaves Clover’s passion to let the energy of sun and happiness to shine in everyone’s heart. However, there is a twist in my story: where is Four-Leaves Clover’s happiness and what support it to use its magic and go for its passion? The answer is love. There is a girl in my story who deems Four-Leaves Clover as her precious and nourishes it with her own love. The love is the base of everything. Because of love, people have passion to chase their dreams and the magic can take a place. Magic, passion, and love are the basic element to inject positive energy to this world, and my artwork of the story of Four-Leaves Clover prove this theory.
“A Happy Occasion Ready to Dance” - Diane Kuenzli
$500.00 (acrylic)
A Minnesota transplant did volunteering as a production position for Northstar Watercolor Society before moving to Savannah where I fell in love with even more painting. Was schooled maybe 3 years by Frank Zeller who lead us to learn composition and abstract. Got lucky taking my first workshop that turned out not to be watercolor but something I swore I’d never do … acrylic and I love it cause you can always change what your doing as long as it’s acrylic. The workshop was given by Robert Burridge’s who taught us freedom with paints.
“Pinup Magic” - Holland Hames
$75/each
I am an illustrator from Charleston, South Carolina. I have been smearing paint and mixing ideas in the noggin since a kid. Then you get older and start to figure out what to do with your life. The only ones I cared about is the aspect of creating/reading an image, and skateboarding. So naturally I fell in love with illustration.
“Pin Up Magic”
The women covered in paint hear relate to the way I have always seen passion
and love. These beautiful women are symbols of beauty and love. The greatest passion
of mine is way paint applies itself. These screen prints are mono-types that show the
magic of how paint is applied. Everything is aligned with magic, passion, and love so
greatest beauty that has caught my eye is the destruction that is not controlled. The
type is sloppy, drippy and destructive. This works with the chaos manner the paint is smears,
and complements the subtle one color of the beautiful woman.
Caroline Rose
Originally from rural North Carolina, I’m a senior Illustration student at Savannah College of Art and Design. Much of my work is influenced by music and literature as well as my upbringing. Raised in a town with one stop light, being creative was a way of survival for me. Found objects and collage are of particular interest because they offer a barrier between tangible images, recycled media and always a sense of spontaneity. A bundle full of contradictions, the concepts behind my work often juxtapose one another, but are always filled with passion for craft, a love for exploration and a magical realism.

“Birth aka Bearings”
At a time when I lived in a physically very different part of the country, I kept creating
works that brought me home to the Low Country. I needed to be in the mountains to
appreciate the lowlands, I guess. The distance from my birthplace helped me to get my
bearings; to find my path; to realize the Love that is everywhere if you carry it inside.
“In the Garden”
The garden or Eden is a metaphor for the state of divine consciousness. The image “In
the Garden” is an idealized version of the view from my studio. Spirit is in the egret, in
the spartina grass, the viewer. Whether we acknowledge it or not we’re all on a journey
of Self discovery. As we cultivate our interior gardens we uncover the bliss of Perfect
Love within.
